Managing Notification Preferences

Overview

StartGlobal lets you control how you receive communications through WhatsApp, email marketing, and SMS channels. You can enable or disable each notification channel independently to suit your preferences. This guide shows you how to access and configure your notification settings.

Before You Begin

  • You must be logged in to your StartGlobal dashboard at app.startglobal.co.
  • If you want to enable WhatsApp notifications, ensure you have a WhatsApp-enabled phone number on file.
  1. Click your profile avatar (circle with your initials) in the top-right corner of the navbar, then select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

2. Open the Notifications Tab

  1. Click the "Notifications" tab, described as "Communication preferences."

    A list of notification channels, each with a toggle switch to enable or disable it.

3. Configure WhatsApp Notifications

  1. Locate the WhatsApp toggle, identified by a green MessageCircle icon.

  2. Click the toggle to enable or disable WhatsApp notifications.

    The toggle will switch to reflect your new preference. Changes are saved automatically.

4. Configure Email Marketing Notifications

  1. Locate the Email Marketing toggle, identified by a blue Mail icon.

  2. Click the toggle to enable or disable email marketing communications.

    The toggle will update to reflect your choice. This controls promotional and marketing emails only -- critical account emails will still be sent regardless of this setting.

5. Configure SMS Notifications

  1. Locate the SMS toggle, identified by a blue Smartphone icon.

  2. Click the toggle to enable or disable SMS notifications.

    The toggle will update to reflect your preference.

What Happens Next

  • Your notification preferences take effect immediately.
  • You will begin receiving (or stop receiving) communications through the channels you have enabled (or disabled).
  • Critical account notifications, such as security alerts and formation status updates, are always sent to your primary email regardless of marketing preferences.

Troubleshooting

Toggle does not change state when clicked

Refresh the page and try again. Check your internet connection.

Not receiving WhatsApp messages after enabling

Ensure your phone number is correct in your profile and that WhatsApp is installed. Check that StartGlobal is not blocked in WhatsApp.

Still receiving marketing emails after disabling

Allow up to 24 hours for the change to propagate through all email systems. If you continue receiving them after 48 hours, contact support.

SMS messages not arriving

Verify your phone number in your profile settings. Check that your carrier does not block short-code messages.
