Viewing and Downloading Documents

Overview

The Legal section of your StartGlobal portal provides centralized access to all your important business documents, including formation documents, EIN letters, and Operating Agreements. This guide explains how to locate, view, and download these documents so you have them readily available for banking, legal, and business purposes.

Before You Begin

1. Navigate to the Legal Section

1. What to do: Click "Legal" in the left sidebar navigation.

2. What you will see

   The Legal section with tabs: Home, Business, Members, Policies, BOI Filing, and Closing.

2. Go to the Home Tab

1. What to do: Click the "Home" tab (selected by default).

2. What you will see

   A combined document list showing both formation documents and EIN documents. Each document entry displays a file icon, the document name, and a "DOWNLOAD" button.

3. Identify the Documents Available

1. What to do: Review the list of documents displayed.

2. What you will see

   Common documents include:

   • Articles of Organization / Certificate of Formation -- The founding document filed with the state.
   • EIN Confirmation Letter -- The IRS letter assigning your Employer Identification Number.
   • Operating Agreement -- Your LLC's internal governance document (if generated).
   • Registered Agent Acceptance -- Confirmation of your Registered Agent service.
   • Additional state-specific documents depending on your formation state.

4. Download a Document

1. What to do: Click the "DOWNLOAD" button next to the document you want.

2. What you will see

   The document file downloads to your computer. Files are typically in PDF format.

5. Download Operating Agreement Versions

1. What to do: If you have generated one or more Operating Agreements, navigate to the Operating Agreement section within the Legal tabs.

2. What you will see

   A timeline view showing all generated versions of your Operating Agreement, each with its own "Download" button and timestamp.

6. Verify Your Downloads

1. What to do: Open each downloaded file to confirm it is complete and readable.

2. What you will see

   The official document in PDF format. Formation documents typically include state filing stamps and reference numbers.

What Happens Next

• Keep downloaded documents in a secure location for your business records.
• You will need these documents for common business activities such as opening a bank account (Articles of Organization and EIN letter are typically required), applying for business licenses, entering into contracts, and filing taxes.
• All documents remain available in your portal for future downloads at any time.
