Choosing Your Business Type (New vs. Existing)
Overview
When you begin the StartGlobal signup process, the first step is to tell us where you are in your business journey. This determines the path you will follow -- either forming a brand-new LLC or bringing an existing US-based LLC onto the platform for ongoing compliance, tax, and business services.
Before You Begin
- You need a web browser with internet access.
- Navigate to the StartGlobal signup page.
Step 1: Open the Signup Page
What to do: Go to the StartGlobal signup page.

Step 2: Select Your Business Type
What to do: Click the option that best describes your situation.
What you will see: Two choices:

|---|---|---|
| Just getting started | You do not yet have a US LLC. StartGlobal will help you form one. | Entrepreneurs who need to incorporate a new LLC in the United States. |
| I already have an LLC incorporated in the US | You already have a registered LLC and want to use StartGlobal for compliance, tax, and business services. | Business owners who already have a US LLC and need ongoing support. |
Click on the option that applies to you. The selected option will be highlighted with a blue border.
Step 3: Review the Confirmation Card
What to do: After selecting your business type, review the information card that appears.
What you will see:
- If you selected "Just getting started": A card titled "Let's setup your company!" with the description: "We help you with everything to get started including state filing and tax ID to start your business journey!" A Continue button appears at the bottom.
- If you selected "I already have an LLC incorporated in the US":
A card titled "YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING" with a checklist of items you will need:
- LLC Formation Date
- State Filing Document
- Registered Agent
Step 4: Continue to the Questionnaire
What to do: Click the "Continue" button.
You will be taken to a short questionnaire based on your selection (4 questions). See the related guides below for details on each questionnaire.
What Happens Next
- If you chose "Just getting started", you will answer the New Business Questionnaire (4 questions about your business stage, team size, business type, and experience).
- If you chose "I already have an LLC incorporated in the US", you will answer the Existing Business Questionnaire (4 questions about your revenue, team size, business type, and experience).
- After completing the questionnaire, you will proceed to create your account.
