Requesting a Mail Shipment

Overview

When you want a piece of mail physically delivered to your address, you can submit a shipment request through the StartGlobal portal. The shipment request form collects your delivery address and contact details. You can also save a default shipping address for faster future requests.

Before You Begin

  • You must have an active StartGlobal account with an active US Mailing Address service.
  • You must have at least one mail item available for shipment (check the All Mails tab).
  • Have your delivery address and contact information ready.
  • Navigate to Utilities in your dashboard sidebar.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Locate the mail item you want shipped.

    Click "Utilities" in the sidebar, then select the "All Mails" tab. Find the mail item you want to ship.

  2. Open the shipment request form.

    Click the "Ship" button for the mail item.

    What you will see

    A shipment request form opens with fields for your delivery address and contact information.

  3. Fill in recipient details.

    Complete the following fields:

    Field What to Do
    Salutation Select your title (Mr., Mrs., Ms., etc.).
    First Name Enter the recipient's first name.
    Last Name Enter the recipient's last name.
    Middle Name Enter a middle name if applicable (optional).
  4. Enter the delivery address.

    Complete the address fields:

    Field What to Do
    Address Line 1 Street address (required).
    Address Line 2 Apartment, suite, or unit number (optional).
    Address Line 3 Additional address information (optional).
    City City name (required).
    State/Province State or province (required).
    Country Country (defaults to "USA").
    Postal Code ZIP or postal code (required).
  5. Enter contact information.

    Fill in the Phone and Email fields with a contact phone number and email address.

  6. Add notes (optional).

    Enter any special delivery instructions or notes in the "Notes" field.

  7. Save as default address (optional).

    Check the "Save as Default Address" checkbox if you want to use this address for future shipment requests.

    What you will see

    A checkbox below the address fields. When checked, a toast notification appears after submission: "Perfect! Your default shipping address has been saved."

  8. Submit the shipment request.

    Review all fields for accuracy, then click the "Submit Shipment Request" button.

    What you will see

    The form closes and the mail item's status on the All Mails tab updates to "Requested" (blue). If you checked the save default address option, you will also see the toast: "Perfect! Your default shipping address has been saved."

  9. Cancel the form (if needed).

    Click the "Cancel" button to close the form without submitting.

    What you will see

    The form closes. No shipment request is created.

What Happens Next

  • After you submit the request, the StartGlobal team processes the shipment.
  • The mail item's status will progress from "Requested" to "Shipping" and then to "Shipped" as it moves through the fulfillment process.
  • You can track the status on the All Mails tab.
  • If you saved a default address, it will be pre-filled the next time you submit a shipment request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Troubleshooting

"Submit Shipment Request" button is disabled

Ensure all required fields are filled in (Address Line 1, City, State/Province, Postal Code, Phone, Email).

Form does not open when clicking "Ship"

Refresh the page and try again. Ensure the mail item's status allows shipment (e.g., it should be in "Unread" or "Read" status).

Default address is not saving

Ensure the "Save as Default Address" checkbox is checked before clicking Submit Shipment Request.

Country field does not change

The Country field defaults to "USA" but should be editable. If it appears locked, refresh the page and try again.
