Payoneer fees, step by step
| Receiving in a non-local currency | 1% + $1 | 1% with a $1 minimum. Receiving into a local-currency receiving account is free. |
| Card payment from a client | 3.99% + $0.49 | Up to 3.99% + $0.49 when a client pays by card. |
| Withdrawal to your bank | 1.2% to 4% | Payoneer publishes a 1.2%-4% band. 2.6% is the midpoint, shown because the exact rate depends on your corridor. |
| Withdrawal, same currency | $1.50 | Flat $1.50 to a local bank account in the same currency. |
| Converting between balances | 0.5% | 0.50% to move between your own currency balances. |
| Annual account fee | $29.95 | Only if you received under $6,000 in the past 12 months. |
Why Payoneer looks free and is not
Payoneer's receiving accounts in USD, EUR, GBP and other currencies are free to be paid into, which is what most people compare. The cost arrives when you withdraw to a bank account in your own currency: a conversion of 1.2% to 4% depending on the corridor and your volume. On $60,000 a year that band is the difference between $720 and $2,400.
Ways to keep it down: withdraw less often in larger amounts where a flat fee applies, ask Payoneer for its rate at your volume, and compare the conversion against Wise's published price for your currency before you withdraw.
Get paid in dollars to your own US account
A US LLC can open a US business bank account in its own name and receive ACH from clients and marketplace payouts directly. Formation is $399, all state fees included.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Payoneer charge to receive money?
Nothing when a client pays into your Payoneer receiving account in that account's own currency, such as USD by ACH to your US receiving account. Receiving in a different currency costs 1% with a $1 minimum. A client paying your Payoneer invoice by card costs up to 3.99% + $0.49.
What does Payoneer charge to withdraw to my bank?
Withdrawing in the same currency is a flat $1.50. Withdrawing with a conversion to your local currency costs between 1.2% and 4% depending on your country and volume, which is where most of Payoneer's cost sits.
Does Payoneer have an annual fee?
Yes, $29.95 a year, but only if you received less than $6,000 in the previous 12 months. Active accounts above that pay nothing.
Is Payoneer cheaper than PayPal?
Usually, for clients who pay by bank transfer. On $5,000 received in USD and converted at 2%, Payoneer costs about $100; PayPal on the same money from a foreign client would be several times that. Card payments through a Payoneer invoice are closer to PayPal's cost.
Payoneer or Wise?
Wise is generally cheaper to convert, with a published per-currency fee and the mid-market rate. Payoneer is accepted by more marketplaces as a payout method (Amazon, Upwork, Fiverr and many freelance platforms) and offers receiving accounts in several currencies. Many sellers use Payoneer for marketplace payouts and Wise or a US bank for everything else.
